ALEXANDER FLEMING


ALEXANDER FLEMMING is best known for his discovery and isolation of the antibiotic substance PENICILLIN for which he shared the Noble Prize with Florey and chain.The discovery of penicillin was ranked as the most important discovert of the millennium when the year 2000 was reaching. it is imppossible to ascertain how many lives have been saved by this discovery. but it has been roughly estimated this figure to be around200 millon lives!
Alexander flemming was born on a farm at loachfield near darveli in east ayrshire, scotland on 6th august 1881. he had therefore had a struggled life. he had his early education in the local school and at the milmarnock academy.
Fleming worked in a shipping office for five years when he was 20years old. he in herited some from an uncle.
in 1901 flemming enrolled at ST.Mary's hospital london and got qualified with distinction in 1906 and graduated to medicine.
